How we create the finest bedrooms for our clients

In our time we have designed numerous bedrooms for our clients, from guest to children and master suites, we have done it all! Because of this we are well versed in what is takes to create the perfect bedroom for our clients and have detailed below some of the steps we take in achieving a relaxing oasis to rest your head at night.

Functional Storage that works hard for you

The first place we always start is looking at what you need from your bedroom room and how we can make it work the best for you. This is the most important aspect of our work. A room should function exactly how you need it to and incorporate plenty of storage. In bedrooms we go this through storage considerations such as wardrobe storage, dressing tables, beds with built in storage and end of the bed ottoman. We have also incorporated breakfast facilities in master suites to allow for that hotel feeling at home, allowing you to start your day the best way possible. We learn as much as we can from you about the way you live and any ways in which we can improve this for you. The function and storage is entirely tailored around you.

Choosing the right colour schemes

The colours used in a bedroom are also a large contributing factor in creating a relaxing oasis to retreat to at the end of the day. We often opt for neutrals, greens and blues in many of our clients’ homes as it instantly creates an inviting space to unwind and enjoy. We also use colour to inject our client’s personality into the rooms which creates a sanctuary, perfectly tailored to them.

Using cosy fabrics and textures

The fabrics and materials we use in interior design play a huge part in our experience of a room. Acoustically, fabrics allow sound-absorption and noise-reduction which can reduce stress levels. We use unique textures which are soft to touch and are enjoyable to be around. Our textures also stretch to walls as we look to use wallpaper both conventionally as a wall covering and on wardrobe doors to add further texture and warmth to the space.

We would also recommend replacing tired mattresses, as they can make the world of difference to a good night’s sleep. Upgrading your bedding is an easy way we add the feeling of luxury into a bedroom. We also like to incorporate bespoke cushions and throws which perfectly compliment the rest of the room and create a cohesive space.

Lighting creates the atmosphere

We’ve said it before, there is nothing like a well-designed lighting scheme. Your home can completely transform from day to night. A properly designed and installed lighting scheme works for all of your needs. If your bedroom is your safe space at the end of the day, layered soft, yet effective lighting creates a relaxing environment for you to unwind and reconnect. An interior designer will carefully consider the way you live and how lighting can enhance your experience. This means that you don’t need to worry about learning the technical aspects and do’s and don’t of lighting. We will use our expertise to design a cohesive lighting scheme for your home to help you love how you live.
