Our Interior Design Process Explained

You have made the first step, and enlisted our services to create a bespoke home for you to sit back and enjoy. Every design studio is different, so below we have the low down on what to expect when working with us.

The Introduction: Briefing

We love to learn more about our clients to ensure that we give you a home you will enjoy for years to come. Before we do anything, we will send you our tailored design survey where you will be able to tell us about your likes and dislikes when it comes to interior design and how you use the space.

We will always come to meet you in person at your home to discuss your hopes and dreams for your living space. During this meeting we will listen to you and discuss in depth the design survey answers. We set expectations by talking through budgets, timelines and any queries you may have.

The Design & Presentation: Design Concept

Now that we have a better understanding of you and your home, we are able to create the design concept. During this process we typically source key furniture pieces, fabrics, lighting options, flooring, paint colours, bathroom fixtures and accessories, carefully selecting the right pieces for your home.

We design and create many bespoke pieces for our clients. These include; built in joinery, furniture, rugs, and more - the possibilities are endless!

Once we have curated your bespoke design in our studio we will present to you, a detailed package containing moodboards, sample boards with proposed finishes, space plans and 3D room visuals. All of these elements give you a clearer insight into how your home will feel once we have finished the process. We will discuss all of the design elements during this presentation.

The concept presentation is your opportunity to get involved, tell us what you love and perhaps where you would like to see alternative options. We fully understand that you may not be onboard with absolutely everything we suggest so this is the perfect opportunity to let us know what you think!

The Background Work: Procurement

Once the design concept has been signed off, we will start to obtain quotes for the works and all the items to be purchased. We will then work up a thorough proposal detailing all of the items, their dimensions, lead times, colours and materials. We give as much information as possible to make sure that you are totally comfortable with everything we will be purchasing on your behalf.

As soon as the proposal is signed off we will liaise with our trusted tradesmen to begin the work. We communicate directly with them so that they fully understand the brief and will make sure that you are fully aware of the work going on in your home. We take care of orders and deliveries so that you don’t have to, whilst making sure that everything we install in your home meets our high level of quality checks. We carefully store your items until we are ready to install.

The Final Result: Installation

This is the most exciting part of the process and the day that you have been waiting for! We will agree an install date with you in advance to allow you to clear the space and prepare for the busy period in your home. Install day can get very busy but once the day is over we will reveal the completed project for you to enjoy! It’s understandable that you may want to peek into the room as we are working, but trust us when we say you will have the best surprise during the reveal at the end of the process. There is no need to worry about cleaning up afterwards as we have everything covered and will just leave you to relax in your new home. Installations typically take 1-2 days for each room with larger whole homes taking longer based on project size and complexity.
